I enjoy wine with depth and complexity, esp. Burgundy, Champagne and Barolo.  They are, however, expensive.  I really cannot afford to drink them every night.  As a result, I usually will explore relatively unknown regions which hopefully are underrated by most.

The wine I enjoyed very much this time is a Savennieres from Loire Valley.  Savennieres is made from 100% Chenin Blanc.  To me, Chenin Blanc is absolutely a noble grape with huge potential, on par with Chardonnay and Riesling.  Its underrated, however, made white wines from Loire Valley one of the most underrated wine region in the world.

Savennieres is one the best Chenin Blanc region in Loire Valley.  Its annual production is very low at just about 20,000 to 30,000 cases a year.  Savennieres wines are usually very complex with strong minerality and honey flavour.  They have very great cellaring potential and may require at least ten years to reach its full potential.

Jacques Selosse Champagne?  Its nose reminds me of Jacques Selosse Champagne of very strong and intense aged Buy Buy cipro online Cytotec Online Pharmacy No Prescription Needed yeastiness flavour.  Quite full in body and quite high in acidity.  The wine has good complexity with flavours of citrus, lemon, minerality, honey, apple, pear and yeastiness.  I especially like the combination of yeastiness, minerality and manuka honey!  For a price of around HK$200, I highly recommend this wine to you all.

How deeply I love about this wine?  I immediately bought a case of 1985 Nicolas Joly Coulee de Serrant.  To many people, this is the best Savennieres and it has been aged for 25 years already.  How much it is selling?  Just around GBP350!  While I didn’t drink any bottle yet, I truly believe this should bring me unbeatable value for money!

Purchased from London (HK$200)
