Last week is really a busy week to me. Not that I’m busy with all the wine related events held in Hong Kong, but I’m busy for my WSET examination as well as writing the WSET research paper. It’s so glad that this is at least settled down for a moment and I should have more time to write my blog.

Even though grapes used mainly coming from the warmer southern part of Champagne, I still find this wine having the delicate character of a Blanc de Blancs. Various flavours such as pear, citrus and yeastiness all are in good balance. Quite good in complexity and concentration. As a non-vintage Blanc de Blancs, I think this is quite good.

Comparing to 2002, this one is more delicate and not as intense as 2002. It is also starting to have some aged Champagne character. Yet, it really has comparable complexity and concentration as 2002. Which one is better? Really a personal choice depending on whether you prefer fresher fruit or having some aged character.

A champagne showing strong aged Champagne character of honey and dried fruit with strong minerality as well. For a price of just about HK$800, I think this is offering fanatic value, especially comparing to Krug Collection 1982 that I drank a few weeks before that cost over HK$6,000.
