My colleagues got promoted and they are so kind to treat us a dinner with wine in the coming Friday.  Given my wine in wine, I voluntary nominated myself to buy wine for the dinner.  In my search for wine, I have two important consideration.

First, many of us are quite serious about wine and really want to enjoy decent bottle instead of very ordinary one.  However, I prefer not to go for very expensive bottle.  My budget is about HK$2000 for 6 bottles.  Second, almost all of my colleagues enjoyed old world wine.  Favorite region is Burgundy no matter white or red.  Unfortunately, Burgundy is known to be expensive which is Buy cipro online a challenge.

So, my quest is to search for good value Burgundy!

Below are my strategies Buy Clomid Online Pharmacy No Prescription Needed in finding good value Burgundy.

  • First, I avoid any really cheap Burgundy.  In my opinion, good Burgundy will never be cheap.  It is very difficult to have a decent Burgundy under HK$200.  I think price around HK$300 seems more reasonable.
  • Second, when considering producer, vintage and vineyard, I will rank producer as the most important factor in choosing a good Burgundy wine.  I’m not saying vintage and vineyard are unimportant, it is just you will more likely have a good Burgundy from a good producer than a Burgundy from underperforming producer even if they are from great vintage and great vineyard.
  • Third, while I really enjoy wines from Vosne-Romanee, Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey Chambertin, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, rarely they will be cheap if they are from reputable producers.  Instead I think I have to search for lesser-known villages.  Lesser-known villages producing good quality wines includes villages such as Marsannay, Auxey-Duresses, St-Romain, St-Aubin, Pernand-Vergelesses, Monthelie, Santenay and Rully.  However, to me, these villages are lesser-known not without its reason.  They are usually not as ideally located as those famous villages.  So, Buy Brand Levitra Online Pharmacy No Prescription Needed it is important to stick with good producers and good vintages to avoid disappointment.
  • Finally, of course, is to search for review and reference for wines interested.  There is not a single source of review or book that I trusted 100%.  Still, I think it is useful to search for review and comment on wines you are interested.  For Burgundy, I think Burghound ( is quite a good source.  The website has very good coverage of Burgundy wines.  Also, I found its review description usually quite accurate (even though on a few occasion I think its description and score didn’t match).

What did I choose finally?  Below are the three wines I choose with two bottles each. Both Hubert Lamy and Charlopin are very good and reputable producers with 2005 an exceptional vintage.  Will they be good?  Really don’t know and let’s wait for Friday when we pull the cork to find out

  • Charlopin Marsannay Les Echezots 2006
  • Hubert Lamy Saint Aubin 1er Cru les Castets 2005
