I always want a break from my favorite wine regions such as Burgundy and Champagne to try something I didn’t drink often.  Wandering around the wine shop, Buy Cytotec Online Pharmacy No Prescription Needed I finally decided to try a bottle of Alsace’s Pinot Gris which I didn’t drink often.  If we drink a bottle of North-East Italy’s Pinot Grigio followed by an Alsace’s Pinot Gris, it would be difficult to imagine they are produced by using the same grape variety.  Even though Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio got different names, they are actually the same grape variety.

In Italy, Pinot Grigio is usually harvested relatively early to retain its acidity.  In Alsace, given its dry autumn, grape can be picked quite late resulting in much riper grape.  In Alsace, Pinot Gris can be used to produce not only dry wine, but also semi-sweet and sweet wine.  They usually would have an attractive honey aroma.  Even though Pinot Grigio is very popular today, I found most of them are rather bland.  In general, the quality level of Alsace Pinot Gris is much higher than Italy’s Pinot Grigio!

The bottle I picked is 2007 Zind-Humbrecht Rotenberg Pinot Gris.  Zind-Humbrecht is one of the best producers in Alsace.  In 2002, Zind-Humbrecht has been certified as a biodynamic producer.  It produces over 30 wines every year.  It is also very innovative by putting sweetness indices in its wine label.  Dry wine is of sweetness index of one and the sweetest one will have an index of 5.  This bottle is of sweetness index of three which means it is semi-sweet.

The wine, as expected, has very attractive honey aromas together with white flowers, minerality, tangerine and lime.  While it is not very high in acidity, I found the wine very balanced and not a hint of Buy Viagra Soft Tabs Online Pharmacy No Prescription Needed flabby.  Together with Buy zyprexa online its good complexity, this is a good wine that worth a recommendation.
