Nuits-St-Georges is located at the southern end of Cote de Nuits. Generally speaking, wines from Nuits-St-Georges lacked the supreme elegance of villages like Vosne Romanee and Chambolle Musigny. Instead it is generally more bigger and more muscular in style. Maybe it is also because of this reason why less Hong Kong people is drinking Nuits-St-Georges as most Burgundy lovers would prefer more elegance style. This bottle is Domaine Jean Chauvenet St.-Georges “Les Vaucrains” 1er Cru 2002. It is a big wine with very ripe fruits displaying flavours of blueberry, plum, spices, white pepper and earth. Relatively strong oak flavours. Very concentrated and intense. Really not an elegance style and slightly rustic hint. A good wine.
